Contract: London Bridge Station, London, SE1
Contractor: Keltbray Ltd
Client: Network Rail – Costain Ltd
The redevelopment of London Bridge Station is a key part of the Thameslink programme, which aims to increase significantly the total frequency of trains through the station per hour. Work commenced in full in 2013 and completed in 2018.
Anglewest Ltd were contracted by Midgard Ltd who were the Main Contractor completing the works on behalf of Redrow Homes. The works consist of an office accommodation gantry, stepped independent scaffolds to the various blocks with bridging and large stepped run off/loading gantries which feed the terraces up the building. The biggest challenge for this project was the setting out of the scaffold to miss the brackets being installed for overhanging balconies, this enabled installation without alteration for the balconies while the scaffolding was dismantled.
Anglewest Ltd worked on this Network Rail contract for Keltbray Ltd who carried out phased demolition works over 5 years on behalf of the Main Contractor, Costain Ltd. Various scaffold types were used the majority were purpose designed. Pedestrian bridge removal scaffolds, screen scaffolds, general access and safety scaffolds.
